Assigned Date
- The assigned date is the date on which a case was most recently submitted/resubmitted onto cybersettle. The assigned date relates only to the most recent opportunity to settle the case.

Attorney
- An attorney is a person who has been qualified to provide legal services. An attorney may be a case creator or an opposition party. An attorney may enter either offers or demands depending upon his specific role in the case.

Case Creator
- The Case Creator is the person who initiates the submission of a Cybersettle Case. It can be an attorney or representative of an insurance company

Case ID
- A Case ID is the unique identifying number which Cybersettle assigns to a case submitted by a Case Creator. An insurance company claim could be represented by more than one Cybersettle Case ID's

Case Pin/Settlement Access Code
- The Settlement Access Code is the number Cybersettle assigns to the case so that the opposition may gain access to the specific case. When the opposition party utilizes the Settlement Access Code

Case Type
- Case Type is the designation which Cybersettle requires a Case Creator to assign to a Cybersettle Case. The Case Types available on Cybersettle are Bodily Injury

Claim Number
- A Claim number is a number that the insuring party/defendant has assigned to their case file. It is a required field on all Cybersettle cases. An individual claim number can be expressed on multiple Cybersettle cases.

Claimant
- A claimant is the person who seeks relief. A claimant's representative enters demands in an attempt to settle the case. Only the claimant(s) listed on the Cybersettle case are included in any settlement that is reached unless the Case Creator and Opposition Party otherwise agree.

Closed
- Closed is a Cybersettle case status. A Closed case is no longer available for the entering of settlement figures. Only a Cybersettle Administrator or Case Creator may close or reopen a closed Cybersettle case. A Case may be closed for the following reasons: Case Settled Offline

Comment Box
- The Comment Box is the section on the submission page that allows the Case Creator to communicate information the opposition party. All text typed in the Comment Box is communicated to the opposition party when they attempt to engage the Cybersettle case. The Comment Box is only available to the case creator and only on the initial submission of a Cybersettle Case.

Created Date
- Created date is the date upon which a Case Creator submits case information to Cybersettle and that information is entered on Cybersettle. A Created Date is not indicative of a present opportunity for an opposition party to settle a case. The Assigned Date is the date that determines the availability of the Cybersettle case to the opposition for the purposes of achieving immediate resolution.

Cybersettle Case
- A Cybersettle case is an opportunity to settle a particular case which an insurance carrier/self-insured entity or attorney has submitted to Cybersettle. A Cybersettle case can be a present

Date of Loss
- The date of loss is the date of the incident for which the claimant is seeking compensation. Date of loss assists Case Creator and Opposition Party in identifying the underlying case. It is a required field on all Cybersettle Cases excepting New York No Fault.

Demand
- A demand is the amount the claimant would be willing to accept to resolve the claim. A Cybersettle case will not settle for less than the demand amount in that specific round. Cybersettle creates a range from the demand that defines the settlement range for that round.

Edit
- To Edit a case is to change one or more pieces of information included in the submission. Only a Cybersettle Administrator or Case Creator may edit a Cybersettle Case. A case may only be edited only until the opposition party engages the Cybersettle case..

Engage/Engagement
- Engagement is the opposition party's response to a Cybersettle Case. It is the act of entering offers/demands on a round by round basis. Until all rounds are exhausted or the case expires without all rounds being completed

Expiration Date
- The expiration date is the date after which a responding party may no longer enter offers/demands. Either a Case Creator or Opposition Party may renew a case after the expiration date. With regard to pending cases

Expired
- An Expired case is one for which the Opposition Party has not made a complete response prior to the expiration date. Either a Case Creator or Opposition Party may renew a case after it has expired.

Facilitation
- Facilitation is an iteration of the Cybersettle process with a facilitator standing in the place of the computer. Facilitation helps to reduce the time it takes to bring both parties to mutually agreeable number. In Facilitation

Facilitator
- A facilitator is a person who works with the attorney and adjuster separately to reach a mutually agreeable number. The facilitator keeps offer and demand confidential unless one of the parties gives the facilitator authority to reveal that party's offer/demand to the opposition.

Facilitation Bids
- Facilitation bids are confidential numbers given to the facilitator in an attempt to resolve the claim. They can be either offers or demands.

Insured
- The Insured is the person or entity against whom the claimant seeks to recover. Only the person(s) listed as the Insured or Other Insured are included in the offers that are made to settle the case. If a person or entity is not included as the Insured or Other Insured

New Registration
- A New Registration is a Case Creator's initial submission of a case on Cybersettle. It is distinct from a Resubmitted or Reentered case. The Assigned Date of a New Registration is the first opportunity that an Opposition Party has to respond the opportunity to settle online.

Not Settled
- A Not Settled case is one in which the Opposition Party has exhausted all rounds that were made available. A case is typically marked Not Settled after three rounds of offers

Offer
- An offer is the amount the insured would be willing to pay to resolve the claim. A Cybersettle case will never settle for an amount above the offer presented in a specific round. A case will only settle if the offer is equal to or greater than the demand presented in that round.

Offline Settlement
- An offline settlement is one which occurs outside of Cybersettle. The Cybersettle process not only speeds settlement through online resolution and facilitation

Open
- An Open case is one which a Case Creator has successfully submitted on Cybersettle. An Open case is immediately available for the Opposition Party's response. While a case remains Open

Opposition
- The opposition is the party to whom a Cybersettle case is directed. An opposition party is either an attorney

Pending
- A Pending case is one for which the Case Creator has not yet entered offers or demands. An opposition is not able to respond to a pending case on the Cybersettle system.

Power Round
- The Power Round is an additional opportunity to enter a settlement figure after the three standard rounds are completed. The availability of a Power Round is determined through the application of an algorithm. It only becomes available when offer and demand fit within the algorithm's parameters.

Resume
- A claim with a pending status is resumed when a case creator enters offers/demands and submits the case for opposition response. Once this is complete the status of the claim changes to Open.

Rounds
- Rounds are the number of opportunities provided to settle the case. A case creator enters three rounds of settlement figures when submitting a case. The responding party enters settlement figures sequentially. Subsequent rounds are available only in the instance that the case does not settle.

Submitted Case
- A submitted case is one that is available for opposition response. Either side to a dispute may submit a case on Cybersettle in an opportunity to settle.
